PHILADELPHIA, (March. 9, 2023) – Chain.io, a cloud-based integration platform that connects partners across the global supply chain, today announced an integration with Windward, a leading maritime AI company providing an all-in-one platform for risk management, supply chain, and maritime domain awareness needs. The integration of Windward’s supply chain solution into Chain.io’s platform will enable freight forwarders to streamline their operations.

The first phase of the integration will allow forwarders to track ocean freight at the container level through Windward Ocean Freight Visibility’s customizable suite of insights via API. These API insights will pass through Chain.io for translation and be delivered into the forwarder transportation management systems (TMS). Forwarders can receive supply chain insights provided by Windward including carrier ETAs, Maritime AI predicted ETAs, reasons for delay, container and vessel milestones, voyage number, loading status, discharge notification, and transshipment details, all in real-time.

“We’re thrilled Windward is joining the Chain.io network to help freight forwarders manage their customers’ supply chain operations,” said Brian Glick, CEO of Chain.io. "By integrating Windward into our connective network, our customers will have another way to turn visibility and risk data into forward-thinking business decisions."

By integrating Windward’s Maritime AI, forwarders can receive accurate insights in real time allowing them to plan more efficiently and take proactive mitigation actions. Windward's Ocean Freight Visibility solution leverages proprietary AI, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms to fuse all relevant data from a multitude of sourcess, including port efficiency and congestion levels, vessel behavior, weather, and much more. The Chain.io and Windward integration will allow any forwarder, especially those using off-the-shelf TMS solutions, to easily consume Windward’s accurate and timely insights.

Ami Daniel, CEO and Co-founder of Windward said, “Through our integration with Chain.io, we are adding another important method of integrating Windward’s actionable AI insights into existing TMS, customer-facing portals, and business intelligence systems. Thus, helping customers achieve key operational efficiencies and optimizing their day-to-day decision-making processes.“
